Treasurer-Elect: Matthew Morgan
Personal Statement
I would like to express my strong interest in volunteering my time to serve as the Treasurer‐elect role for NCURA Region IV. I have been participating in NCURA events since my first Region IV meeting in Kansas City back in 2016. Since then, I’ve been able to grow in my position and my research administration network has been expanding thanks in large part to NCURA. I would like to serve the organization and have an active role in continuing to drive the mission of NCURA and supporting my fellow research
administrators.
I’ve been serving the research community since 2015 and my current role is leading our Post‐Award team here at the University of Kansas Medical Center. I believe I’m uniquely qualified to serve as Treasurer due in large part to my experience with financial accounting. I’ve been serving as the lead for our single audit for the past four years, and I’ve very familiar with cash flow practices, paying and recording bills, and maintaining financial statements.
I believe my experience in grants management as well my passion for research administration makes me a well‐qualified candidate to fill this role. I look forward to continuing to serve the research community and play an active role in the NCURA organization.
